In regular mode, melons are a little pointless. In survival mode, melons are great for eating around your base when crafting, building, whatever. They supply you with one serving of food and one serving of hydration. They hit you with some rads, but by the mid game you should have a decontamination arch, so its trivial. I keep a small patch of 5 melon plants in my main base for snacking. Not so great to carry with you, since they're 1 pound apiece, but it doesn't matter when you're at your base and they spare you having to eat more weight efficient food and drink when you're at home.

7 years too late but im seriously confused as to why your game doesn't have Corner Cafe window pieces but mine does. Yea im on PC and have mods but i don't think any of my mods adds more pieces to Vault 88 build menu.

You can do the same thing with a light pole instead of a rug. The benefit is that you can adjust the height/sink into the ground.

north west of Somerville place(you can see the building from the house) on some pallets are some bags of cement. warning if you go in the building it activates and releases the sentry bot, if you take it out unlike the bags of cement it will not respawn.

Yeah when I first cleared 88 (which was about 10 minutes ago when I was done?) The whole thing was just overwhelming how am I going to actually build all of this All the different tunnels I mean you actually have to design a layout you have to have an idea of the flow of it at least then it hit me how am I going to power all of this stuff do I have to learn how to run conduits. Lol so happy Nikola Tesla hook them up with wireless power this save so much time and it does mean that I just spent way too many caps buying shipments of everything I won't need as much but can't have too much

5yrs later and I just stumbled across this and built this step by step. I’ve even seen people take your build of this or station #2 and put their own twists on it! You’ve done some great builds. Hope you start doing some new builds soon

This is almost exactly what I did in Sanctuary. I'm a big fan of Age of Enlightenment wooden forts and blockhouses. and this could be what Fallout 4 fortifications should be.. at least begins with. before better equipments and options becomes available.

First of all, thanks for these videos! Secondly, I’ve hit a snag. I built the elevator, then the security room off the 3rd floor of the atrium, then the overseer’s room. My issue is this- I can only power *part* of the security room and NONE of the overseer’s room using the white power conductors and it’s driving me nuts. Why?! What am I doing wrong? I followed your instructions perfectly lol

Try to be mindful of resources that plants produce. You passed up some that give you Structural.

Okay so what am I doing wrong? Finally did the wire glitch and no power to the elevator. Got lights all around the elevator and it's still not working.

Firemander sounds great! My habit now is to use the Settings menu to provide more storage on players and ships. Inventory management is difficult, so I don't mind upping it. There's a mod that also makes "cargo" habs hold cargo, which helps immersion. A mod I haven't seen, but would love, is a way to keep track of resources I've identified, or mined, on planets, so when I need something I can check the ship "database" to tell me where to go for it. As it is, I use an ancient program buried in ruins I found on Earth in the Sol system called "MS Excel," but with all this fancy galaxy jumping tech, ships should come with installed spreadsheets, no? Sometimes I relax in the "zen" of 100% surveying planets. Having a ship database to keep track of resources would be cool. I've also enjoyed not having any Constellation companions on my ship or following me around--it's quieter that way. Ezekial is a quiet most of the time and when he speaks his voice and dialog sounds natural; someone I don't mind having around.

So...all the creatures Barrett was shooting at were aggressive and you got too close. They moved to attack you and Barrett was protecting you!

Not sure if I'm the only person but I typically never have more than 10 power in a settlement. With 10 power, I can do 2 powered water pumps and a recruitment beacon. I typically just use light or heavy machine gun turrets which don't need power and the resources associated with it.

I love this channel! I'm using your tutorial (because tbh I suck) and I'm so happy with it! Unfortunately I placed my Overseer's desk early so... oops. Edit: My staircases won't snap together.

I build a similar guard tower. I use the first wood prefab, putting fairly high up off of the ground. Then I go into warehouse/misc. and snap the long posts to the four corners. I like to have it high enough that it takes two posts to reach the ground. Then add warehouse stairs. I surround the edge with wood/misc and the railing pieces. I have a mod that provides a guard mat, so I don't need to put a guard post into it, but if you have the Vault-Tec build set unlocked, the steel guard post would fit nicely. Then, as my towers are dual purpose, I put a mix of turrets on the top of it. The higher the turrets are the further their range. As an example, I had my turrets at Murkwater Construction sitting very high above the ground. When I went to the school across the way and the ghouls attacked me, those turrets were shooting the ghouls.

I was struggling with the same problem as well but I figured it out by placing the exact floor next to the elevator and boom light turned on. Didn’t plan on deleting the floor board cause I’m just not gonna fw it 😂 If its on it’s staying on 😂

Awesome thanks. I still think producing and selling purified water and selling prewar money with high charisma can earn you the caps to keep buying shipments, saves going round the houses , especially if you want to build a lot

Just realized as of watching this video and then checking on the first video to see if I was delusional that when you placed your atrium ceilings you said 7 is a good number so I put 7 of them without a second thought. Fast forward to this episode I get confused because things aren’t lining up anymore so I go back to the first episode and see you counted the prefab end as one of the ceiling so now I either have to either go back and fix my mistake or just figure it out 🫣

I’m new to vault building why is the power button red when I’m in build mode

What do I need to download to increase my building inventory? Warehouse, barn, concert. How do I acquire those? Am stuck with just wood and metal.
